Summary: As a teen, Blithe Ives met Kurtis Oglesby, a fellow teen who also happened to be a witch, sent out by his witch mother to explore the world and learn to survive on his own.  As their friendship developed into something vaguely romantic, Kurtis agreed to help Blithe leave her abusive family situation by... assaulting her parents with magic to erase their memories of her.  After that, the two changed their surname and set off to Appaloosa Plains to start a new life together.  Unfortunately, Kurtis was Evil, and made a series of bad choices, eventually getting kicked out of the house by Blithe after he set fire to their living room in a fit of rage, endangering their then-toddler son.

A little while later, Blithe was stalked by a well-intentioned vampire named Dann Luddwigg.  He claimed to be the son of one of Kurtis' mother's "coworkers," because that makes sense.  Apparently, Kurtis' mother was a semi-immortal witch on an ancient council of magically-inclined sims.  Dann's father was also on this council, and had sent Dann to keep an eye on Kurtis' only child.  

After a bit of convincing, Dann moved in with Blithe and her son, set up a creepy secret research lab in their home, and remained romantically involved with Blithe until he accidentally starved to death.  Oops.

Summary: Like his father, Crocus was a witch.  However, seeing as his mother was ill-equipped to help him develop his powers, he met with his father, who had become a wanderer after his bitter split from his family, in secret all throughout his childhood and teen years.  He married his high school sweetheart, and they had one child together; however, Kurtis asked Crocus to leave his family and travel with him instead, no doubt to go enact some evil scheme somewhere.  When Crocus refused, Kurtis killed Rosemary, who he blamed for his son being "stolen" from him a second time.  He also planned to kill their child, but chickened out at the last minute.  Crocus cut all contact with his father after that, and lived the rest of his life quietly caring for his son and many, many pets.

Summary: With so much drama happening in his family before he had even left his burrito blanket, Auberon just wanted a normal life.  This is a bit difficult when your father is a witch with a pension for wearing animal-themed sweaters, and there are more snakes in your house than sims, but Auberon managed to make some nice, regular friends at school.  His best friend was Scout Vera, an insane orphan--again, so much for normalcy.

Auberon spent his entire childhood thinking Scout was just a slightly eccentric bro, but when they reached their teen years, it turned out Scout had been a girl the whole time.  A bit of a shock, but they remained close friends, and after doing her darnedest to prove she was more than just "one of the guys," he and Scout got married.  Despite her insanity, Scout was a genuinely good person, passionate about her work and eager to adopt in order to save other children from the difficult childhood she had experienced.
